Of swimming pools, politicians and no a/c

Big day today

Varied terrain today... Forested mountains along the ocean, fields, mango orchards, banana plantations, meandering along the ocean... One never quite expects this pacific coast to look this good. It's little wonder that the Americans invaded this area with their tourist dollars... Ruining everything their dollars bought.

Late in the day we found a small hotel somewhat dilapidated... No a/c... So we chose rooms facing the ocean... Immediately above the pool. It looked like we were going to be the only guests for the night until the budding governors political supporters and press entourage arrived.... Their predominant color being red suitably echoed are sentiments as they lulled about in the pool till nearly 2am in a drunken state. We tried to shut out the noise by closing the windows.... But when the temperature is still over 30c at midnight there isn't much comfort in trying to sleep in a hot stuffy room...
