We found this really cute hostel with secure parking for the car and bikes...
San cristobal was an amazing city with cobbled streets... Buildings with meter thick walls.. Character oozing out of every corner....
Today we ventured back on the road to the border where we successfully had our vehicle deposits refunded and entered guatamale.... Luckily the border crossing only took a few hours... And we continued through these luscious green mountains. Our starting elevation was about 2000m, dropping to 900m at the border and rising to 3000m before dropping down to panajachel where we retired for the evening....
Some of the roads were a bit of a nightmare after the recent rains with some sections of road totally washed away, other roads badly potholed and others yet the result of landslides.... The potholes were so large in places that you could submerge a whole car in them...... There was many casualties on the side of the road with suspension damage, smashed radiators etc etc...
Now? It's time to explore town... And get some dinner
