Lake Atitlan, very poor roads and borders!

We only spent one night in Guatamala and the highlight was certainly beautiful Lake Atitlan which we discovered in the morning after arriving in the dark, Rob arrived even later because he got lost. I think the lake is a huge volcanic crater lake.

Guatemala seemed little poorer than Mexico and this was reflected in some (not all) of their roads, I can't believe we complained about the Mexican speed bumps! We suffered damage to Suki's van & Gilbert's bike. We would get repairs in El Salvador but first we had to run around at the border doing paperwork for over 4 hours, our delay meant we didn't find the best place to stay the other side of the border but the lobster was very good :-)
